To make a trunking system record in the scanner you first must enter all the frequencies that the system uses into sites identifying the control channels for each site. Its not that expensive for a year and it makes things so much easier. I can say from entering a couple of channels of a test system go ahead and save yourself the headache.
If you want to enter all the data for the trunking system by hand then no it isn't. Well if you want to make the programming as simple as select and upload then yes.
